French

Why is learning French important?

Learning a foreign language is important because it enhances our reading, listening and writing skills in other areas of the curriculum. Learning a language also opens a world of opportunity – it allows us to connect with other people around the world, and also boosts our awareness and understanding of other cultures around the world. Learning a language links to our Leasowe Values, as it allows us to develop a level of respect and appreciation for other cultures worldwide.

Here at Leasowe Primary School, we intend to implement a positive multi-cultural awareness for all of our pupils. Through using the Language Angels scheme of work, we deliver a high-quality foreign language (French) curriculum. French is taught in Key Stage 2. French is taught in weekly sessions, and the children can also access interactive games with their own individual log ins, making learning French more interactive, engaging, and most importantly fun!
