Student Leadership Team
Senior Student Representatives
At Leasowe Primary School we celebrate the strengths of our children in as many ways as possible. In Year 6, the children take part in a democratic vote to elect our Student Leadership Team each school year. The Year 6 pupils take pride in preparing a speech highlighting why they feel they could represent our school effectively. They share their presentations before staff and the whole school vote on who they feel should be Head Boy, Head Girl and their deputies. Our student Leadership Team carry out a range of tasks throughout the year, representing our school in the wider community as well as showing visitors around our wonderful school. We are so very proud of them all.
School Council
Each class has a representative on School Council. They meet regularly to share the voice of their peers regarding what we can add to or change within our school day.
School Council is led by Mr Harvey and together the group supports decision making and events planning too.
House Captains
At LPS, our pupils are each part of a wider team, our “Houses”. Named by the children themselves, they are The Egyptians, The Romans, The Mayans and The Greeks. As children earn raffle tickets for following our LPS Values, they do not only earn them individually, but also for their house team. Each week the winning team is announced in our celebration assembly. The cheers can be heard far and wide. The winning House then has their coloured flag flying proudly at our school entrance for the next week.
Eco Club
Eco Club is run by Mrs Jeffrey, and they meet weekly with a focus on sustainability and the environment. The children are excited to be part of our Eco Team and we are proud to say that Leasowe Primary is recognised as an Eco School.
